Summary of Book (take from Goodreads):
Trying to put his past behind him, Kaden moves to New York City where he creates a new life for himself. And that isn't easy, considering the fact that he's a six-hundred-year-old vampire who hasn't fed on a human in more than a century. Unfortunately, the past isn't something you can always escape from. When old enemies resurface, they come with a message. His master wants him back and refusing isn't an option. Confronted with losing both his freedom, as well as the human that has captivated him, Kaden struggles to hold onto his humanity while controlling his darker side. He knows the showdown is inevitable. He must find a way to stand his ground.

What I thought:
This was a quick read. It is only about 145 pages. I read the e-book version. Going into this, i was expecting it to be a lot like other paranormals, and it almost started out that way. The classic vampire falls for the human girl and so on. However, it really wasn't like that. There is a human girl (Lyn), however it appears right now that Kaden is more a less trying to keep her safe, as she was spotted by Pheonix's clan and he doesn't want her killed. I will be curious to see what happens in the next book.

Kaden has a group of vampires who escaped with him, who are also not happy to have the past catching  up to them. They have werewolves who protect them, which i found rather funny. Normally the two in series are enemies, but in this series, the werewolves are protectors of vampires!

The story ends with a big cliffhanger. I didn't realize it was over. It was one of those, where you thought, that's it, its over? It will definitely have you ready for the next one to come out to see what is going to happen.

I don't want to give away too much in this review. So, to sum it up, if you looking for an action packed, maybe a possible romance, with some modern day vampires and werewolves, this is the book for you. Enter my giveaway for you chance to win a copy from Amber (which by the way, she is really sweet and has been great about corresponding with). You won't be sorry if you decide to go ahead and and buy this book. I can't wait for book two. I am  hoping for some more between Lyn (the human) and Kaden!

Follower? I'd love to enter, but I don't know what you mean by this [I may already be and just don't realize it because I use a different term?]. Thanks!

I'm a follower now, does that count? Whether it does or doesn't, thanks for the opportunity. I just stumbled upon this author a week or so ago. My son's name is Riley - that's how I remembered. The book sounded good! Thanks again.
