Book Blurb: With her long ponytail and sparkling green eyes, Tessa Donovan looks more like the girl next door than a businesswoman—or a heartbreaker. Which may explain why Detective Luke Asher barely notices her when he arrives to investigate a break–in at her family's brewery. He's got his own problems—starting with the fact that his partner, Simone, is pregnant and everyone thinks he's the father.
Tessa has her hands full, too. Her brother's playboy ways may be threatening the business, and the tension could tear her tight–knit family apart. In fact, the only thing that could unite the Donovan boys is seeing a man come after their "baby" sister. Especially a man like Luke Asher. But Tessa sees past the rumors to the man beneath. He's not who people think he is—and neither is she.

My Thoughts: I was very excited when I learned Victoria Dahl had a new series coming. I loved her Tumble Creek Series. If you have not read it, you better! In this series we meet two brothers and of coarse their one beautiful sister. Tessa gets the first story in the series. How fun that she is drawn to a guy who happens to be friends with one of her brothers.  Will this friend, Luke break the bro code and date the sister? Well, we wouldn't have romance if he didn't! Only Luke doesn't have the best reputation. He has an ex wife everyone assumes he left and a pregnant partner. Oh did I mention he is a hot detective? Back to the pregnant partner, everyone assumes he's the daddy! Can Tessa look past all this?

The romance in this book was strong and it was a fun little story. I very much like Tessa as a character with her over protective brothers. Each brother brought something else to the story so I am looking forward to reading their stories too.

Along with the romance we also get a mystery to the book as we figure out who broke into the tavern. Tessa also has a side problem in the book where she is trying to fix a problem before. She goes about it the best way she sees possible, but it doesn't make it the right way.

I recommend this book fully to anyone who likes contemporary romance. If you have read Victoria Dahl before, then you will not want to miss this one!

Seems like I have read something by this author, but I can't, for the life of me, remember what it was. Any suggestions as to what it might have been?
