Got any tips or tricks to blogging slump?

It finally happened, I am a bit burned out on book blogging. I am still reading, just not blogging about it. I have been doing a lot more "pleasure" reading and not as much "review" reading. I have not accepted anymore new reviews from authors and I have a very light schedule currently. I think I am trying to get the love for reading back, if that makes sense. Last October was a huge month for me. It was the month that I had 16 reviews scheduled. I was still catching up in November. Even though I have yet to have another month like October and I learned from it (I only agree to 5 reviews a month now), I just have this slump feeling. I am a little worn out I think. So I guess that means I need a small break. So, Beck's Book Picks might not be as active as usual. Maybe some of you have noticed that the past 2 weeks, it has been a little slower here. I have been a bad blogging buddy too. I have not been making my rounds and leaving comments. I think for those who are non bloggers, you might not know how much hard work this can be. Not only as a blogger do I want to produce a quality blog for my reviews and giveaways, but I was a blogging relationship with the blogging world. So I have to stay in constant contact with other bloggers and have blogs I visit frequently. As I stated above, I am a little burned out. So,time for a little break. A little recovery time to get my mind fresh and hopefully once I am feeling a little but better, I will be ready to share all these great books I have been reading.

So,do you have any tips or trick that have gotten you out of a blogging slump?

Just take it slow. I think we all feel that way somethines and we just need a break. I don't think anyone will mind slower postings, just take you're time and before you know it you'll be back to blogging again.

Blog because of the books. Don't do it for the reviewes or even us followers, just write what you feel like writing.

Girl, I knew you did a lot but come on! You're not giving yourself enough of a break! I'll only commit to 3 reviews a month and the rest I try to read what I like. That way you have time open if you need a day off. I also try to have my posts done in advance as much as is feasible.
That said, I agree completely with Khadija, don't review because you feel like you must. Don't do it unless it's fun!

@HottBooks, Yes, I only do 5 now and that might be pushing it. Its definitely a learning experience. I really don't know how all these other bloggers do it who are constantly reading and reviewing.

I'm kind of in a period of being stressed out by how many reviews I've agreed to, and I agree with the others that taking it slowly is the way to go. You could just start reading and reviewing only books YOU select for a while.

I went through a blog slump too - I just posted that I would be back - take your time - I am currently 8 reviews back - I figure I will get them written in the next week, but I can't stress about it anymore or it won't be any fun. Fun is why I read - so I try not to worry too much. Happy Reading!

I know what you mean. Sometimes the bug bites that says "just want to read, no want to write" and you know, listening for a bit isn't so bad. Helps give you a new perspective on things. Just take it slow, one at a time and try not to over schedule so that it stays fun.... ^_^

I'm with Gina. I read maybe one book a week. I never rush myself. I post the review only when I feel like it.

My advice: Do some shorty reviews. They help keep things less cumbersome and time consuming.

Good luck :)
