BBAW--Forgotten Treasures Day 4

Today’s Topic:  Sure we’ve all read about Freedom and Mockingjay but we likely have a book we wish would get more attention by book bloggers, whether it’s a forgotten classic or under marketed contemporary fiction.

I really like this topic. As a book blogger, I enjoy reviewing all the latest books and getting my hands on them. I want to feel like my blog is up to date. Most blogs I read also do about the same. I spend a lot of time at the used book store near me and some of the older books I read, I don't always review, especially if they aren't a well known author. However, with this topic I started thinking that so many books out there are just forgotten simply because they aren't the newest book on the closest book stand.  I think if a book isn't at least six months to a year, then its a forgotten treasure. There are so many books coming out every week, that its so easy to get swept up in all the  new book hype.

So, that's my take on this topic. It wasn't exactly a specific book, but I think after this topic I just might review some of those "older" books that I read.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out my current giveaway that is this week only for BBAW. Click HERE

It's so easy to forget a book-and you're right after 6 months it's a forgotton treasure. Sad, but true.

I love to read reviews on older books too! There are so many it's easy to overlook them, I agree, but I think they are equally as important.

Great job on bringing to light a crevise were some great works are often lost. I hope everyone takes time to periodically go back and review an older book or even a classic. What a great post.
Thanks,

Discovering (or rediscovering) older books is really fun, and definitely worthwhile! It is easy to forget about books that aren't just released, so share your reviews of older works and get us all thinking about them again -- or finding them for the first time. :)

I love reviewing older, backlist titles. I don't do it nearly often enough, but I'll vow to do more in the future!

Yep, there are a lot of oldies but goodies out there! That's why I try to review as many old favorites as I can to get more attention for them.
