Snowed In With The Tycoon by Shoshanna Evers

Publication Date: August 28, 2011
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Format: E-Book
Heat Level: R

Blurb: She’ll never sell her late mother’s farmhouse, and the real estate tycoon can’t take no for an answer. But when they get snowed in together on the same piece of land they’re both fighting for, their desire keeps them hot even in the cold of winter. This time, she won’t be saying no…

My Thoughts: Shoshanna Evers is a new author for me. I follow her on Twitter and I am always intrigued by the things she writes. So, when her latest book came out that she self-published I would like to add, I knew I had to read it. It didn't disappoint. I devoured this book in two sittings. I got sucked into this story wanting to see love but also emotionally. Both of these characters were carrying a lot of weight on their shoulders and it was so nice to see them come together and help one another, even though they didn't know they were helping each other. When these two finally let go of the hate, they thoroughly heated up my e-reader pages.

Sarah is a character I think a lot of us can relate too. I liked that she was emotional. She was tough, but she let her tender side be known. Often times when I read romance, the woman is always strong down to the bone and I often think, I would would have cried if that happened to me! With Sarah, we got that. So it made her so much more relate-able.

Mike also comes across as this got it all together character. To let you in on a little secret, he is the one who ends up growing the most in this book. I almost didn't see that coming.

If you enjoy a good contemporary romance, then you don't want to miss out on this one. Its available on Amazon, Nook, and Smashwords.

Thank you for hosting me today. I hope I whetted the appetite of your readers with the excerpt from According to Plan. The game of strip pool, and subsequent scenes that follow were some of my favorites.

Who knew when I started writing Shelby’s Legacy (yes, that was the first working title) it would evolve into According to Plan. There was chemistry between Shelby and Tank from the get-go, and very few people know this, but Tank was only a secondary character in the beginning. He’d been written in as the ex-boyfriend who showed up for a little sumthin’, sumthin’. But as I wrote his scenes with Shelby, it became apparent he was the man for her and the lead I’d been trying to write was punted. Sorry Liam.

Jane Wenham-Jones: Wanna Be A Writer We've Heard Of

Today I have Jane Wenham-Jones on the blog talking a little about her book Wanna Be A Writer We've Heard Of. Well if your a writer, then your answer is most definitely YES

Jane Wenham-Jones is a novelist, journalist and presenter and the author of the Wannabe Books - two how-to manuals on getting published and becoming well-known. Below is an extract from Wannabe a Writer We've Heard Of?, available on Amazon or through all good bookshops. For more on Jane see http://www.janewenham-jones.com.

Bits & Biogs

You will also be asked if you want to include a dedication and acknowledgements at the front of your book and to supply an author biography.

You’ve probably been writing this stuff in your head for years but now you’re doing it for real, again, do think really carefully about what you want to say.

You’re going to be cuddling that book for a long time and with luck it will be in print for years to come. It is therefore worth checking anything that’s going to be between its covers for cringe factor before whizzing off the copy.

Excerpt: According To Plan by Madison J Edwards

Today I have an excerpt from Madison J Edwards newest, According To Plan. Go grab yourself a drink and sit back and enjoy.

The sound of balls being racked floated up the stairs. Tank had gone for it. I knew he would. This was going to be like shooting fish in a barrel, he wouldn’t know what hit him. Feeling smug, I went into the kitchen and prepared the drinks.
I estimated an ounce of rum for each drink and poured it over ice cubes, followed by some cola. For extra insurance, I threw another splash of rum into Tank’s glass.
I rummaged through my medicine cabinet and found the sleeping pills Polly had given me, and shook out two little blue capsules. They were kind of small and Tank was pretty big, so I added one more. Three should keep him out of the way until I was safely in the air, enjoying an in-flight beverage. After breaking them open, I poured the powder into his glass and threw the tiny casings in the garbage.

Interview: Ashlynn Monroe

Welcome to Beck’s Book Picks. I am very excited to have Ashlynn Monrie here today.

Tell us a little about yourself?
Ashlynn Monroe is a busy working mom. She loves her kids and family. Her greatest joy is creating stories to entertain others, and she hopes they bring a little more romance into the world. She’s been writing since her teens for her own enjoyment but decided in her thirties to share her imagination with readers. Ashlynn enjoys biking, camping, reading, video games, and filling her home and life with love. If she’s not working or chasing children, you can find her daydreaming up her next tale of romance.

Back in the Saddle (A 1 Night Stand Story)Checking out your website www.ashlynnmonroe.com I was quite impressed by all the books you have written. How long have you been writing and when was your first book published?
I’ve been writing since I was thirteen by didn’t have the courage to pursue publication until my thirtieth birthday. I guess that’s how I dealt with the big 3-0 *wink*. I first tried to find an agent but was told my work was too short so I researched and found epublishing. I sent my first novella, Hidden Magic, to Wild Horse Press and was delighted to be contracted by the publisher a very short time later. I was contracted at the end of February 2010 and on June 4, 2010. I became a published writer. This is a much cherished anniversary date and this year I took my kids out to a special supper to celebrate. I was a birthday of sorts for me as I use a pen name. I’ve been blessed with finding multiple publishers who are willing to believe in me. It’s expanded my friend base and my knowledge about the craft I love. The first person who bought Hidden Magic changed my life and filled a hole in me I didn’t even know existed. Whoever you are, thank you so much, everyone who buys my work gives me a wonderful gift and they don’t even know it. This has enriched my life tremendously.
